If the recently unveiled Nubia Z5 and Grand S from ZTE are a bit too much for you, but you still want something more that just an average smartphone, the Chinese manufacturer has something that may suit your expectations. The ZTE U887, which is a smartphone-tablet mix also known as phablet, does not offer any out of this world specs, but is expected to arrive with a reasonable price tag making it available to users with less money to spare.
One feature of the ZTE U887 worth noting is the size of the screen, which will be 5 inches. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about its resolution, which will be only 800 x 400. The handset will be driven by a 1.2GHz dual-core MT6577 processor accompanied by 512MB of RAM. There will be 4 GB of internal memory, which is not much by today’s standards, but luckily the phablet will have a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
The ZTE U887 will be equipped with a 5 megapixel main camera and VGA front-facing shooter, and a 2,000 mAh battery will provide the juice. According to the smartphone’s documentation, the U887 will ship with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread.
