Flagship smartphones are great, but many of us opt for more affordable options. If you too belong to the group of budget-conscious customers looking for a capable and cheap phone, Boost Mobile has something that may catch your attention. The carrier has just announced to add the ZTE Tempo X to its list of offerings. Except for extremely low pricing, the phone provides its users with compact design and solid entry-level specs.
Boost Mobile has just expanded its affordable Android portfolio by another ZTE smartphone. The new ZTE Tempo X combines solid specs with extremely low pricing and may be activate on the carrier’s new $50 plan.
Following up the Tempo phone launched in 2016, ZTE – the 2nd largest non-contract suppliers of phones nationwide – releases the second gen of the affordable device. Called the Tempo X, the new device offers a slightly bigger display. Instead of a 4.5-inch panel found in the last year’s releases the device features a 5-inch 480p display. Sadly, despite being bigger the phone’s screen is actually weaker. The same with optics represented by a 5MP primary camera and a 2MP selfie snapper on the front. Viewing quality and photo experience compare poorly, but there are several upgrades – mostly on the optimization level.
First of all, the ZTE Tempo X is powered by a slightly better Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 210 processor clocked at 1.1GHz and coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB of built-in thankfully expandable storage. Android 7.1.1 Nougat the phone runs out of box is quite clean version, which is surely a good news to all those of us somewhat paranoid on BLU’s firmware security. Meanwhile, a 2,200 mAh battery keeps the whole thing alive . Even though such battery parameters sound a bit ridiculous in 2017, note that thanks to low resolution, low memory RAM and slow processor the cell should be large enough to deliver one day of usage. Last but certainly not least, the Tempo X sports HD Voice on Boost Mobile and Bluetooth 4.1.
If you think that the ZTE Tempo X is a phone for you, you can grab it for $79.99 at Boost Mobile. The phone is available online and in local stores. Furthermore, now through November 2nd all switchers can combine it with Boost Mobile promotion $50 pre-paid plan, within which you will get 3GB of speedy LTE data along with unlimited talk and text. The best thing here is that the pricing includes all fees and taxes.
On the other hand, however, for the same money you can get the BLU Selfie 3 whose biggest advantage over the Tempo X is an 8MP selfie shooter and sharper display. Bought at Amazon the phone will work with AT&T and T-Mobile. No matter which device you will eventually end up with, both seem to be a manageable alternative to all those customers who don’t want to ruin their budget with the Galaxy S8’s purchase.
