For some time we can observe among mobile manufacturers a trend to equip their new smartphones in thin bezels. Year after year the flagship smartphones come with more and more reduced bezels, which surely looks great, but many users find it extremely unhandy. Today, the new ZTE Nubia Z9 surfaced online on render pics presenting an ultra slim bezels and premium design which are the hallmark of the company’s Nubia series. Perhaps, the lineup isn’t very popular outside its home market of China, but its modern design combined with great hardware parameters makes the phone worth your attention.
ZTE Nubia Z9 to be almost bezel-free phone
Screens lacking bezels are considered unpractical by many mobile users. Why? Well, their very fragile and prone to damage when the phone is dropped. Secondly, while carrying such a phone in your hand, you simply cover and tapping the screen. However, all these doesn’t necessarily mean than handsets with thin bezels don’t have their staunch fans, since phones like the Meizu MX4 with very thin bezels gain on popularity and determine design standards for other mobile makers despite its lack of functionality. No wonder then that ZTE wants to join the thin bezel phones competition that has just reached its climax on the Chinese market.
According to the recently leaked press render pics the upcoming ZTE Nubia Z9 will feature an edge-to-edge display with curved edges, similar to those found in the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. What’s more the phone appears to come finished with a solid metal frame and glass back panel. At this point, no one can tell whether the applied screen technology is the same curved AMOLED screen designed by Samsung. Perhaps, ZTE developed their own technology which makes the smartphone’s to be almost bezel-free?
Moving on to the hardware parameters, the phone is allegedly reported to debut with 5.5-inch 1440x2560p resolution screen on the board, which locates the device in the phablet sector. Going further, the Nubia Z9 will be powered by either a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 chip or a 64-bit hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chip, combined optionally with 3GB or 4GB RAM. Additionally, the handset is also rumored to sport a fingerprint scanner built into the home button and a rear camera featuring a dual tone LED flash.
Considering the overall design language and its specs, the ZTE Nubia Z9 seems to be a really interesting offering which may turn out to be a serious rival for a great number of expensive flagships launched recently by the mobile industry giants.
