For some people the date December 21st has a scary meaning because of the “end of the world”, for others, however, it may be the happiest day of their lives since it is the day the ZTE Nubia Z5 is said to be officially announced. Whether it is true or not it remains to be seen, but this monster of a smartphone is definitely worth our attention. Expected to be priced at $400, this monster of a smartphone may mean the end of competition from phone with similar specs.
And the specs are quite impressive. The ZTE Nubia Z5 will come with a 5-inch 1080p full HD touch screen display with a pixel density of 440 ppi, a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, and 2 GB of RAM. On the back there will be a 13 megapixel main camera, and the front-facing shooter will be set at 2 MP. The unibody chassis and dual speakers also sound appealing. The ZTE Nubia Z5 will ship running the latest version of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, and a 2,500 mAh battery will provide juice.
The Nubia Z5 can also compete in the thickness department. At just 0.3-inch (7.6 mm) thick it will be one of the thinnest smartphones with a full HD screen on the market.

Update: First, the world did not end. Looks like Mayans were wrong. Secondly, the ZTE Nubia Z5 will be launched 4 days later than expected, on December 25th, after all.
