Cymbal-T is ZTE a new flip phone
Looking through phone offers, it may seem that flip phones are a thing of the past. Indeed, the vast majority of devices on sale nowadays are touchscreen-only smartphones with bar design. However, if you are in the market for a good old flip phone, also known as clamshell, you can easily find one. In fact, ZTE has just added a brand new Android model to the mix that you can buy through Best Buy for just a hundred bucks.

The ZTE Cymbal-T is now available for purchase

ZTE Cymbal-T is now available for purchase with an unusual form factor for an Android smartphone and super affordable price tag.

Called Cymbal-T, the device is available for just $99.99 on TracFone which owns MVNO brands like NET10, Straight Talk, and Simple Mobile. Of course, it’s full retail price with no contracts or any other hidden costs and it also includes 1 year of service with 1200 MB of data, 1200 minutes, and 1200 messages for the whole year. The Cymbal-T can be purchased online from Best Buy, but you can also find the device in Walmart as well as Home Shopping Network.

On the outside, the ZTE Cymbal-T looks like the flip phones you used to see everywhere a few years back, but what makes it different is that it’s a smartphone running Android OS. It sports a 3.5-inch fully functional touch screen display but it also has a typical for a flip phone numerical dial pad with a few shortcut keys to quickly access camera, messages, etc. Powering the phone is a 1.1GHz Snapdragon 210 processor paired with 1GB of RAM and there is also 8GB of internal memory expandable up to 32GB via microSD slot, 5-megapixel rear camera with flash and autofocus and 2-megapixel selfie shooter with fixed focus. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and support for LTE 4G and the phone is powered by Android 5.1 Lollipop.

As you can see, the Cymbal-T doesn’t really offer much, at least compared to today’s flagship phones, but enough to let you keep in touch with family and friends and have some fun on the go. Since it combines traditional form factor with Android experience, it could be a great choice for users who want to switch from a basic phone to smartphone but are not quite ready for a high-end device. All in all, the ZTE Cymbal-T seems like a pretty solid offering in its price range.
