ZTE is apparently following in Huawei’s footsteps in producing large high-end devices. Although the 5.7-inch ZTE Grand Memo is a bit smaller than the monstrous 6.1-inch Huawei Ascend Mate, it is still big enough to deserve to be called phone-tablet with emphasis on the last part. The phablet made a surprise appearance at a ZTE event in Hong Kong this week but we also expect it to be presented at World Mobile Congress next month in Barcelona.
Learn more about the ZTE Grand Memo
The ZTE Grand Memo seems to take its looks from the ZTE P945, but has better specs and probably will be a world phone, while the P945 is meant to be released by China Mobile only. The Grand Memo features a huge 5.7-inch 720p HD touch screen and is powered by a 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU, which is exactly the same as the unit used in the Grand S. Also the awesome 13 megapixel rear-facing camera is something we have already seen, again on the Grand S.
Other features of the Grand Memo include 2 GB of RAM, microSD slot and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. If the recent leaks turn out to be true, the Grand Memo will also come with a hefty 3,000 mAh battery, which is a great news, since it being just 0.31-inch (8 mm) thick could suggest that there would be some sacrifices in the power supply department.
How does it sound? Anyone waiting for the Grand Memo to make its way outside Asia anytime soon?
