Unless @evleaks is mistaken, and he rarely is, a new ZTE handset is apparently on its way to Boost Mobile stores. The famous leakster broke the news via tweet that included a picture of a phone called Boost Max also known as ZTE Beast. Since the image was not accompanied by any details, we don’t know neither what the device hides inside, nor when it will be available for purchase and how much it will cost. There are, however, a few telltale signs that give us at least a vague idea of what to expect.
Boost Max for Boost Mobile Prepaid Service
First, the name “Max” or “Beast” implies that the device is above average size or decently equipped for its price, or hopefully both at once. Resolution appears to be not lower than 720p or maybe even 1080p. The phone seems to run a slightly customized version of Android.
The image of the back of the phone reveals an 8-megapixel camera with single LED flash located in the left upper corner and a speaker sitting near the bottom edge. The date on the screen says “12/1/2013,” which obviously is not a launch date so it may have no significance whatsoever.
The Boost Max bears a striking resemblance to the Iconic Phablet announced by ZTE at CES earlier this month. Looks can be deceiving, though. Until we find out more about the Boost Max / ZTE Beast, we have no way of knowing whether or not it is version of the weirdly called phablet.
