Last year at CES, ZTE announced the original Grand S. Despite being the thinnest 5-inch 1080p smartphone in the world and offering typical high-end features of that time, the Grand S disappointed many users with its incredibly low capacity battery. Fast-forward one year and ZTE is back in Las Vegas with a sequel, the Grand S II. Will the phone live up to expectations? It appears that the answer will be “yes”.
5.5-inch ZTE Grand S II LTE Smartphone
For starters, ZTE listened to countless complaints from customers and put a much larger battery in the Grand S II. The unit has a capacity of 3,000 mAh, which in fact is almost double of what the original Grand S had to offer. Battery life is not the only feature worth commenting on.
ZTE is advertising the phone as offering extensive voice control. Apparently, the device is capable of recognizing multiple users’ voices and can let your friends and family unlock the phone. You can also take photos by using voice commands. The phone also has a My-drive mode, which allows for more efficient and safer use of the device while driving.
On the hardware front, the ZTE Grand S II underwent upgrades in all crucial areas. The phone sports a 5.5-inch 1080p display and is powered by a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor. Photographic experience will be delivered by a 13-megapixel rear camera together with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The ZTE Grand S II also offers 16 GB of internal memory, LTE connectivity and runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
