Offering great set of specs at attractive prices, Xiaomi’s phones become very successful in China in the past few years. The company’s first flagship phone, powerful Xiaomi Mi2 released last year, has already a successor – the Xiaomi Mi2S. What is surprising that the smartphone arrived just few months after the first model hit the stores. The Mi2S is available in two versions. The one features 16 GB on board and 8 megapixel rear camera and costs 1,999 yuan, which is $322 off contract. The second version offers 32 GB of memory and 13 megapixel camera and is priced at 2,299 yuan what is an equivalent of $370.
Xiaomi Mi2S vs. Galaxy S IV – Overview
Other than memory, camera resolution and price, both Xiaomi Mi2S versions are identical in terms of specs and features. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 600 with a quad-core 1.7GHz Krait 300 processor with Adreno 320 for graphics. The Mi2S shows increased performance and scored 25,913 on AnTuTu, which is way above the average on market. For comparison, the latest Samsung Galaxy S IV score was 25,446.
The Xiaomi Mi2S phone sports a 4.3-inch IPS display with a 1,280 x 720 pixels resolution and comes equipped a 2 megapixel camera on the front. The power is provided by a 2,000 mAh battery, which according to the specs sheet should be good for up to 450 hours of standby time. The OS of choice is Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean with MIUI skin. Other features include Bluetooth 4.0, MHL port, USB port with OTG function, GPS navigation, Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi Direct and Wi-Fi Display.
