Remember the Sony Xperia UL we told you about on Sunday? We provided you with a number of leaked photos as well as several technical details. We hereby proudly announce that were right almost to the letter. Ok, we should give credit to our sources for delivering both the photos and information. Bottom line is that the phone is already official. The Sony Xperia UL will be exclusive for Japan and will be available on NTT DoCoMo and KDDI starting May 25.
Sony Xperia UL Android Smartphone
The phone appears to be a spiced up version of the Sony Xperia Z with similar 5-inch full HD 1080p display. Being a close relative to the Xperia Z, the Xperia UL will possibly offer equally pleasant contrast and viewing angles. Chances are that they will be even better. Previous rumors suggested that the device will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, but in the end the phone will be released with a 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chip.
The phone will also offer 16 GB of internal memory as opposed to the 32 GB we expected. Other features include 2 GB of RAM, NFC and a 2,300 mAh battery that should give you many hours of usage time. As most Sony smartphones released recently, the Xperia UL is dust-proof and water-resistant (IPX5/8 and IP5X certification). A really tasty treat, however, is the phone’s 13-megapixel rear camera with 15-shot burst mode. There is also a 3.1-megapixel front-facing camera if you would like to chat to your friends face to face.
