As most Apple products, the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C weren’t cheap at launch which obviously didn’t stop the most ardent fans from buying brand new units as soon as it was possible. If for some reason you weren’t determined enough to grab your new iPhone right away and were rather waiting for the pricing to get more reasonable, now would be a great time to make the move. Why now? Because Walmart is drastically cutting its iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S prices.
Apple iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S New Prices
After the discount, Apple’s current flagship phone, the iPhone 5S 16 GB is priced at $99. The colorful iPhone 5C 16 GB, on the other hand, costs a mere $29 after price cuts. Compared to previous pricing of the iPhone 5S and 5C, you are in for $50 (down from $149) and $20 (down from $49) in savings, respectively. The important thing to remember is that you can take advantage of the deal only if you shop in stores. Also, the new prices are available with a two-year contract on AT&T, Verizon, Sprint or US Cellular and don’t include pre-paid or unlocked versions.
The recent prices cuts seem to be a clear indication that the next-generation iPhone is on its way. As it usually happens, prior to the release of a new device, prices of older models are generously trimmed to encourage deal hunters to buy as many units as possible before the latest version hits the stores and steals all the attention. Exactly the same thing happened last year when weeks before the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C were launched, the biggest retailers such as Walmart, Best Buy, and Target offered older models of the iPhone much cheaper.
Walmart is not the only retailer that has been dropping prices of the iPhone 5S and 5C in recent days. Similar deal can be found at Radioshack where both iPhones can be had for exactly the same price, that is $99 for the iPhone 5S and $29 for the iPhone 5C.
If you are interested in the premium iPhone 5S or the positively colored iPhone 5C, now is your chance to grab one for less than you would normally have to pay. Or maybe you are waiting for the iPhone 6?
