If the photos we just came across are legit, it looks like Samsung is going to expand its rugged Convoy series with an upgraded model. If true, the phone will be the third member of the heavy duty family and will join the popular rugged Casio G’zOne series on Verizon network. Apparently, the device is currently being tested by the carrier and said to be ready for launch within the next few weeks.
Samsung Convoy 3 for Verizon Wireless
Judging from the photos, the Samsung Convoy 3 (model number SCH-U680) for Verizon Wireless have undergone some subtle modifications in terms of design, including a change in the color of the phone’s body. For the most part, though, the handset resembles its predecessor, the Convoy 2. It seems that the 2.2-inch display will remain unchanged, as will the color external display and music control buttons. An image of the front of the device also reveals stereo speakers.
The Samsung Convoy 3 will also come with the microSD memory card slot, orange push-to-talk button, and locking battery cover on the rear. The photos were not accompanied by any technical details, so we are not in the position to comment on the phone’s internals at this point. Stay tuned and we will let you know as soon as we know more about the Samsung Convoy 3.
