The Nokia Lumia 1520, previously known as Bandit, is probably receiving final touches as we speak. Why we think so? Rumors and leaked images are increasing in frequency so definitely there is something going on. A few days ago @evleaks revealed that the phablet might get its official presentation later this month, on September 26 to be more exact. Normally, we would have little reason to doubt the accuracy of such news. However, in this particular case we would rather mark the date in pencil.
Nokia Lumia 1520 coming to AT&T and Verizon
Nokia may actually is going to announce the Lumia 1520 in September, but the device will not go on sale until early November. According to WPCentral, this is when AT&T will start offering the phone. The reason behind such late release is that the handset is going to arrive with GDR3 update to Windows Phone 8.
As far as we can deduce from the bits and pieces we gather from our sources, AT&T will not be the only carrier selling the Nokia Lumia 1520. Chinese website Weibo posted a photo of a white Lumia handset featuring Verizon branding on the back. No names were mentioned but we can read about a “big big Windows Phone” device sporting a 20-megapixel PureView camera with ZEISS optics. Sounds like the Lumia 1520, doesn’t it?
Nokia’s first phablet is rumored to pack a 6-inch Full HD display, 20-megapixel PureView camera and 4 microphones “for Rich Audio Recording”. The phone will allegedly be powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor accompanied by 2 GB of RAM. Other expected features include LTE connectivity, NFC, 32 GB of internal memory expandable via microSD slot and a huge 3,400 mAh battery.
