Nokia is wrapping up its work on the next flagship Lumia smartphone. That much we knew for a while. The new Lumia, coming with a number 929, will be headed to Verizon Wireless. The Finnish phone maker is expected to announce the device later this month and the handset may hit the stores in the US in early November. November 6th and 8th are the most often quoted dates. The Lumia 929 s said to cost $500 off-contract. With subsidy, the phone is likely to cost no more than $99 with a two-year contract.

As for all the technical details, they appear to differ slightly from those rumored previously. The phone will possibly feature a 5-inch 1080p display and a 20-megapixel PureView camera. The camera is allegedly equipped with dual LED flash for better low-light performance. It may also feature Nokia’s oversampling technology designed to deliver sharper and noise-free image.
Nokia accustomed us to a multitude of color options with its Lumia lineup, however, the leaked photos of the Lumia 929 picture the device only in black and white. @evleaks mentioned a red version of the phone, but so far it is nowhere to be seen.
Of course, nothing is set in stone just yet and the handset may arrive with different specs, pricing or body color than we believe it would. One thing is certain, though. Unless Nokia is preparing a huge surprise and totally reschedule the phone’s release, the Lumia 929 is set to launch on or near the same day as the Lumia 1520, which is destined for AT&T. If it happens, it will be the first time that two high-end Nokia Lumias are released so close to each other and on competing carriers.
