The Kyocera Hydro XTRM is up for grabs online at US Cellular and will be available in stores on May 24. The Hydro XTRM costs $29.99 after a mail-in rebate and with a new 2-year contract.

The Kyocera Hydro XTRM on US Cellular network is not your typical rugged phone with its characteristic design but nevertheless offers high level of durability. Built to Military Standard 810G and featuring IP57 certification, the device is shock and drop resistant and is capable of withstanding up to 30 minutes in up to 3.28 feet of water. That means one heavy-duty smartphone perfect for active users. Also worth mentioning is the fact, that the Hydro XTRM is equipped with LTE radio so it runs on U.S. Cellular’s 4G LTE data speeds.
Just like the Edge, the XTRM also come with a 4-inch IPS 800 x 480 impact-resistant touch screen with reinforced housing for extra durability. The phone offers 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of ROM, and 32 GB of expandable memory. The handset is powered by a dual-core Snapdragon 1.2 GHz processor and ships with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Other features include 5-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera and a 2,000 mAh battery, which reportedly is good for up to 12.4 hours of talk time.
