Unlocked Nokia Lumia 1520 international version is now on sale in the US for $799 without contract

The only thing is that sometimes the version you purchase from a carrier may be somewhat different from its international counterpart. Sometimes the differences are hardly noticeable for user but in some cases it can be a real pain in the neck. In the case of the Lumia 1520 offered by AT&T comes with 16 GB of internal memory versus 32 GB of storage found on the international version. AT&T model also lacks wireless Qi charging capability. Not to mention the fact that when you purchase the phone from AT&T you will have to remain in close relationship with the carrier for the next two years.

At this moment it appears that the only color option available is yellow, at least for now.

On the downside, it seems that there might be some challenges with LTE connectivity. The handset supports 800, 900, 1800, 2100, and 2600 Mhz bands which is not exactly in line with AT&T or T-Mobile bands.

Beside all the above differences, the unlocked Nokia Lumia 1520 offered by Expansys is identical to AT&T version, Both devices coming with a 6-inch Full HD IPS LCD display, Snapdragon 800 processor, a hefty 3,400 mAh battery and a 20-megapixel PureView camera with ZEISS optics and optical image stabilization. The Lumia 1520 obviously runs Windows Phone 8 platform and is pre-installed with lots of handy productivity apps such as Microsoft Office.
