Keeping its promise on showcasing their new flagship on Mobile World Congress 2015 Gionee unveiled today their ultra slim Elife S7 smartphone. Famous for delivering one of the world’s thinnest phones, the Chinese manufacturer is now releasing the 5.5 mm thick handset sporting an AMOLED screen, support for LTE connectivity and an advanced 64-bit MediaTek processor.
5.5 mm thick Gionee Elife S7 with improved battery
Measuring just 5.5 mm thick the Gionee Elife S7 surely isn’t the manufacturer’s thinnest phone. Released last November the Elife S5.1 is 0.34mm thinner than its successor. However, the company claims that it is incredibly hard task to put powerful hardware into such a slim body. Wanting to meet the communication and entertainment expectations of modern users the manufacturer resigned from the race to the world’s slimmest title in favor of a better performance.
Sporting a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with full HD 1080p resolution the Elife S7 will hit the mobile market powered by a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek 6752 chipset combined with 2GB RAM and 16 GB of expandable built-in storage. The new screen technology is reported to be more power saving than older generation displays.
Furthermore, the phone has also received a great update in the field of optics, now it comes with a 13-megapixel main camera and a definitely selfie-friendly front-facing shooter. Light will be kept by a 2,750 mAh battery which is also a great improvement when compared to the weak 2,300 mAh that is powering the Gionee Elife S5.1. The new battery is promised to deliver up to two days of moderate usage on a single charging. Frankly speaking, this is a surprisingly good result as for such a slim and elegant phone.
Running Android 5.0 Lollipop with the Gionee’s customized UI installed on the top, the device will support multi-mode LTE and hold two micro SIMs.
Available in Los Angeles Black, North Pole White and Maldives Blue color variants the Gionee Elife S7 is scheduled to debut on the market on March 18th only in Macau. Later that is on April 3rd , it will spread to India and then it is scheduled to begin its international carrier. When it comes to pricing, we still don’t have any beefy detail to share with you. However, the phone is speculated to cost something round $400.
