ZTE Nubia 5Two weeks ago we mentioned that the ZTE Grand S and Nubia 5 will be available in the US through select retailers including Amazon. With no delays, both phones have safely landed on the biggest online retailer, just as it was planned. However, Amazon prepared a nice little surprise for you and is offering the handsets $50 cheaper of their regular price. The ZTE Grand S costs $349, while the Nubia 5 is priced at $399 without contract. As a bonus Amazon throws in free shipping. Both handsets are sold unlocked, meaning that they should work nicely on multiple GSM carriers.

ZTE brings unlocked Nubia 5 and Grand S to the US via third party retailers

ZTE Grand S coming to USZTE is a big name in Asia, however, in the US the manufacturer somehow failed to make it to the premium ranks. This may change as soon as this month, when ZTE’s two mid to higher-end offerings, the ZTE Grand S and Nubia 5, will be made available to the US customers. Both phones will arrive in unlocked form and will be up for grabs from Amazon and “other channels.” Pre-orders for both, the Grand S and Nubia 5, will start on October 5th and the devices will start shipping on October 16th. Considering the specs, the phones are priced pretty reasonably. The ZTE Grand S will set you back $399.99 and the ZTE Nubia 5 will retail for $449.99.

ZTE launches Grand S and Grand Memo in China at pretty decent prices

Grand MemoZTE had a lot to show at this year’s events, CES and WMC. At CES the company presented the Grand S phone with 5-inch Full HD display and month after, at WMC, it showed the Grand Memo, a 5.7-inch phablet. The second one aroused a lot of excitement when ZTE announced that the phone will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. Later on it turned out that the ZTE Grand Memo will be powered by Snapdragon S4 Pro and only some variants of the phone will eventually be powered by the 800. Anyway, both smartphones were launched today in China and are expected to hit European markets as soon as next month.

Luckily, recommended retail prices for mainland China have been confirmed and they correspond with what we would expect from such high-end handsets. As GizChina reveals, the ZTE Grand S will be available for 3,399 Yuan, which would be about $540 and the ZTE Grand Memo will cost 2,688 Yuan what is an equivalent of $428.

ZTE Grand S officially announced at CES as the world’s thinnest 5-inch phone yet

Today, the manufacturer officially announced the Grand S as its flagship smartphone and the device definitely worthy of all the attention. Despite of our preparation for this moment there are three surprises which we didn’t actually expect. Firstly, the phone is only 6.9 mm (0.27-inch) thin gaining the title of the word’s thinnest smartphone and dethroning the Alcatel One Touch Idol Ultra at the same time. Secondly, the phone is powered with a 1,780 mAh battery. Thirdly, the phone is only confirmed for China, and despite how much we like it, a release in the US seems to be uncertain.
