As confirmed back in September, Microsoft’s next generation Surface Windows tablets, the Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 are now available for purchase. You can grab each slate from Microsoft retail stores, online as well as from such retailers as Staples, Best Buy, or Walmart. Out of the two devices, the Surface 2 is more affordable coming with a price tag of $449. The Surface Pro 2 is more pricey starting at $899. Models with 256 GB and 512 GB of storage will be up for grabs in December.
Microsoft has taken initiative to reduce prices on their most popular tablet from the Surface lineup. As part of back to school promotion, for a limited time, Microsoft’s Surface Pro tablet loaded with Windows 8 and Intel i5 processor has now price $100 less than before. A week ago the 128GB Surface Pro was listed at a price of $999.99. After the discount, the tablet goes for $899.99. In addition to the 128GB model price modification, the 64GB model also received an incentive $100 drop. In the blink of an eye the 64GB model went down from $899.99 to $799.99.
