Released last fall, the Surface Pro 2 is one of Microsoft’s most premium tablets on the market, as is its price. Well, quality costs, you can’t argue with that. Every now and then, however, manufacturers offer promotions that allow users to grab electronics cheaper, and Microsoft is no different in this respect. If you were waiting for a special deal on the Surface Pro 2, now is your chance as the company has lowered the price of the tablet ahead of Surface Pro 3 launch.
As confirmed back in September, Microsoft’s next generation Surface Windows tablets, the Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 are now available for purchase. You can grab each slate from Microsoft retail stores, online as well as from such retailers as Staples, Best Buy, or Walmart. Out of the two devices, the Surface 2 is more affordable coming with a price tag of $449. The Surface Pro 2 is more pricey starting at $899. Models with 256 GB and 512 GB of storage will be up for grabs in December.
Laptops are slowly becoming an old school, but some users feel that tablets are lacking something. With those users in mind Microsoft announced today an upgraded version of the Surface Pro tablet / laptop hybrid. The Surface Pro 2 will be available for pre-order starting tomorrow, September 24 and will hit the stores a month later, on October 22. Prices for the tablet start at $899 for the basic model offering 64 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM and go up to $1,799 for the version with 512 GB of memory and 8 GB of RAM.
