The first time we officially heard about the HP Slate 7 Extreme was in September last year. The device looked very promising back then, so we anxiously waited for the launch. And we waited and we waited, and then we waited some more. Four months later, the tablet finally made it to HP store. The slate, which is basically a rebranded NVIDIA Tegra Note tablet with a few HP touches here and there is available from the company’s store and is priced at $199.99.
That was kind of unexpected. With not much warning, HP announced not one, not two, but four new tablets, the HP Slate 7 HD, Slate 10 HD, Slate 7 Extreme and Slate 8 Pro. Apparently, HP is taking this whole tablet business seriously and is rapidly expanding its portfolio. All four Android tablets are scheduled for release some time in November, with more details on availability and pricing coming closer to launch date.
