AT&T is keeping us busy this week. In addition to the Moto X, HTC One Mini and Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3, the carrier also added the LG Optimus G Pro to the roster. The phone can be yours for just $99.99, as long as you sign a new two-year contract. If you think that two years with one carrier is too long but still want the phone subsidized, you can opt for a one-year agreement and buy the LG Optimus G Pro for $349.99. The regular price for the phone off contract is $439.99.
Photos of two new handsets destined for AT&T have appeared on Twitter. While usually we advise you to take such news with a grain of salt, this time the tip comes from @evleaks, who is one of the most reliable sources of details about unreleased phones. The smartphones are the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 and a white version of the LG Optimus G Pro. Neither photo was accompanied by any specs, but we know what to expect, more or less at least. The black LG Optimus G Pro is already on sale at AT&T and the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 is available in Europe and Asia.
In the constantly growing selection of super-smartphones, there is one that deserves you attention today, not only because it is a great phone, but also because it got a new price tag. The device in question is the LG Optimus G Pro for AT&T and it is up for grabs at Amazon for a cheaper price. The largest online retailer if currently offering the handset for $169.99. That is as long as you agree to sign a new 2-year contract.
AT&T today made the LG Optimus G Pro and 32GB Samsung Galaxy S4 available for sale through its web site and in its local stores. Exclusively offered by AT&T, the 5.5-inch LG Optimus G Pro is offered at price $199.99 with two-year contract, while the 5-inch 32GB Samsung Galaxy S4 is sold for $249, which is $50 more comparing to 16GB version. Both handsets belong to a premium smartphones category and are definitely worth its price if you look for top-end Android smartphone today.
As expected earlier, AT&T has officially announced upcoming release of LG Optimus G Pro on its network. The phone will be available for purchase on May 10 via carrier’s website as well as in local stores. The carrier will start accepting pre-orders around week earlier, which is Friday, May 3. At this point it seems that AT&T will be the only carrier in the US that will offer the latest LG’s flagship smartphone at subsidized price with contract.
When a few days ago LG suggested to mark May 1st in our calendars, we had no idea what it was all about. Ok, maybe some had a feeling that it would involve a new phone, but it was more of a guessing game or speculation rather than an actual knowledge. Now the company has let us in on the secret and revealed a few details about the upcoming event. On May 1st in New York City, LG is going to show off its new flagship smartphone – the Optimus G Pro.
If our assumptions are correct, AT&T may be offering the LG Optimus G Pro in the near future. Why do we think that? Because a device with the model number LG E980 has recently arrived at the FCC and it sports LTE bands that match AT&T’s profile. The LG Optimus G has the model number E970, so it would be logical for the next phone in line to be the LG Optimus G Pro.
We first saw the Korea-bound version of the LG Optimus G Pro in a hands-on photo about a week ago. Some time later LG confirmed that the handset’s screen will be bigger than the one used in the model which will be launched in Japan. Today the teasing campaign continues with official images showing the device in all its glory and let’s admit – the Optimus G Pro is definitely something to look at.
