As you probably know, there are four major carriers in the US, that is AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint, as well as a number of smaller ones, the so-called MVNOs – Mobile Virtual Network Operators, which use one of the bigger companies bands to provide service. One of such carriers is Republic Wireless, but it doesn’t operate like other MVNOs. Even though it runs on Sprint’s network, the carrier relies mostly on Wi-Fi for communication which allows for much cheaper plans. There was, however, a little problem with the network – its smartphone selection was limited to just a few models. Those days are gone now, though, since Republic Wireless added nine new cool Android phones to its portfolio.

Today on the first birthday of Google Store slashed prices of the latest Nexus smartphones by $50, which is surely a great news for all of those looking for a sweet deal on a shiny new Android phone. This means that you can buy the Nexus 5X for as little as $299, whereas the Nexus 6P may be yours for $449. The offer refers to both US and Canadian customers. However, Google isn’t the only store discounting the Nexus devices today as shops like Amazon, B&H and Newegg prepared even better promos.
This week Google announced a couple of new Nexus phones and immediately made both devices available for pre-order. It’s great news for impatient users who were eyeing to update its Nexus 5 and 6. What’s not so great is that the Nexuses are sold only through the Google Store, at least for now, so the only way to get one is to pay full retail price. Even though the devices are relatively inexpensive, not everyone can afford to pay almost $650 for a new phone, and that’s how much the 128GB Nexus 6P costs. However, there is a way to make the purchase easier on the budget – Google’s Project Fi offers a 24-month no interest loan for the buy of the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P.
It’s not unusual for a manufacturer to announce two or even more device at a time, however, Google typically doesn’t do that. This year is different, though. The company decided to please all its customers – those who love regular size phones as well as phablet aficionados, and unveiled two devices during a special Nexus event in San Francisco. In addition to the Nexus 5X, Google also made official the Huawei Nexus 6P Android Marshmallow phone.
This Friday Google began to send out invitations on its press conference that will take place in San Francisco on September 29th. During the event the company is expected to unveil the latest update to its Nexus family, the LG Nexus 5X and the Huawei Nexus 5P. Both smartphones are expected to be the very first devices to work on Android 6.0 Marshmallow platform.
