It is about time that Verizon refreshed its Nokia Lumia lineup. If the latest reports are true, it could happen very soon. According to a tweet from @evleaks, the Nokia Lumia Icon also known as Lumia 929 may land on Verizon on February 5th. In case the device fails to meet the deadline next month, we also have a backup date which is March 5. Naturally, we keep our fingers crossed for a February launch, though won’t be a big drama if the phone doesn’t show up until March. After all, we have been waiting for the phone since 2013, so is one month in relation to few months delay?
If you already started counting days to the launch of the Nokia Lumia 929, also known as Icon, you may need to make some corrections in your calendar. According to the latest report, January 16th, which is when Verizon was expected to release the Nokia Lumia 929, may not be that day after all. Instead, we may have to wait until February for the phone to hit Verizon stores. If so, it will be yet another delay of the phone arrival since previous rumors suggested that the handset might be launched on December 20th.
Remember the Nokia Lumia 929, the mysterious phone that was expected to make an appearance at Nokia’s event in Abu Dhabi but failed to do so? At the beginning of November we reported that the device might be coming to Verizon sometime between Thanksgiving and the beginning of the next year. Although nothing is official just yet, it looks like December indeed will be the month when the Lumia 929 will grace Verizon with its presence. The most recent leak suggests “mid-to late December” launch, however, does not mention any particular date.
Two weeks ago (October 22nd) Nokia had its big event in Abu Dhabi during which a couple of phablets, a tablet and entry-level phones were announced. Something was missing, though. The Finnish company did not say a word about the rumored Lumia 929. Some of you may have started wondering if the phone actually exists. Following today’s leak we can tell you with confidence that it does. The handset showed up on the web today with a set of specs and bunch of photos to complete the picture. According to the rumors, the Lumia 929 will be headed exclusively to Verizon sometime between Thanksgiving and the beginning of the next year.
Nokia is wrapping up its work on the next flagship Lumia smartphone. That much we knew for a while. The new Lumia, coming with a number 929, will be headed to Verizon Wireless. The Finnish phone maker is expected to announce the device later this month and the handset may hit the stores in the US in early November. November 6th and 8th are the most often quoted dates. The Lumia 929 s said to cost $500 off-contract. With subsidy, the phone is likely to cost no more than $99 with a two-year contract.
