As you probably know, mobile devices like smartphones, tablets, watches etc. are very delicate by their nature. Sometimes all it takes is a small amount of liquid and you have to say goodbye to your brand new device you have been enjoying for so long. What a shame… In order to reduce the risk of the device’s premature death, more and more manufacturers make their products water-resistant or even waterproof. Both terms sound very similar and at first thought seem pretty self-explanatory. But do we really know their meaning and what is the difference?
Summer is here and for most people it means lots of outdoors activity. This time of the year is usually hard on phones as they go with their owners on hikes, to the beach and the highest mountains. In the process they can get scratched, cracked, dropped and occasionally splashed. Many will not survive this summer season. But not the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active from AT&T.
The list of most likely candidates for the unveiling during Samsung’s special event on June 20 is getting shorter day after day. After the Galaxy S4 Mini was announced last week, another device just got its name removed from the list. The phone in question is the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active – a ruggedized version of Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone. The handset will be available this summer on both sides of the ocean. AT&T seems the most probable to carry the phone in the US. In Europe, the device will be launched first in Sweden, with other countries to follow soon after.
If the latest rumors are to believed, there may be three new Samsung smartphones coming to AT&T in the not so distant future. In addition to the Galaxy S4 Active, AT&T customers may also expect the Galaxy S4 Mini and the Galaxy Mega 6.3 to land in the carrier’s store soon. It is a lot of Samsung devices at once, but actually it is not surprising at all. Both, AT&T and Samsung, have been known to cooperate closely in the past.
