Quite some time has passed since a new Sony phone was launched on T-Mobile but it appears that it may change in the near future. TmoNews posted a couple of photos of the Sony Xperia Z and, oh joy, it has a T-Mobile logo on the front. Of course it is not a proof that the carrier is actually going to release the handset so wait for more information before you start saving money for the purchase. The images do confirm however, that T-Mobile is testing the device, but whether it will hit the stores or not, it remains to be seen yet.
Sony Xperia Z for T-Mobile – Pricing & Availability
A very similar scenario was played out last fall when T-Mobile was testing the HTC One+. Leaked photos suggested that the One+ might be available soon in T-Mobile’s stores, but in the end the carrier decided against launching the phone leaving many customers disappointed. Let’s just hope that this time round the tests go the way T-Mobile intends because the Sony Xperia Z is one of the hell interesting devices on market right now. If it will be released by T-Mobile, the price we can expect is $99 upfront, with monthly payments of around $20 for two years.
The Sony Xperia Z comes with a glass-fiber polyamide dustproof frame and can be submerged in water for up to 30 minutes without any damage. The handset features a 5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, 13 megapixel Exmor RS rear camera with LED flash and 2.2 megapixel front-facing camera. The phone is powered by quad-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon processor and offers 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of expandable storage space. Other features include a 2,330 mAh battery, LTE connectivity and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as the OS of choice.
