Revealed back in August, the T-Mobile’s very first self-branded phone –the REVVL – has just gained a new upgraded Plus variant. Just like the standard model, the REVVL Plus is a budget segment device offering package of great specs for a low price. The 6-inch phablet will soon hit the carrier’s online and brick-and-mortar stores.
T-Mobile has just expanded its portfolio by another great smartphone that doesn’t cost a lot. The REVVL Plus tempts with a massive 6-inch Full HD display, dual-lens camera and low price.
The new T-Mobile REVVL Plus differs from the previous model in several ways. First of all, it comes with a larger 6-inch display, instead of the 5.5-inch panel found in the standard model. Delivering Full HD viewing experience, the handset is driven by a more powerful octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz and paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB of built-in thankfully expandable storage (it accepts cards up to 128GB).
Another distinguishing feature offered by the REVVL Plus is a dual camera setup consisting of a 13MP and 5MP sensors, allowing to shoot photos with bokeh effect where the background is blurred and the main subject of an image appears in sharp focus. Dual-lens camera are typical for more premium handsets by Apple or Samsung, which surely makes the REVVL Plus an even more tempting alternative. As for the selfie snapper, it is represented by an 8MP sensor.
Furthermore, the REVVL Plus runs Android Nougat and packs a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for better data security. Closed in a black body shell with magenta accents, the phone is kept alive by a 3,380 mAh battery, replacing the 3,000 mAh unit powering the standard REVVL, and supports 4G LTE connectivity.
Judging by the specs, the REVVL Plus has all the necessary features allowing it to successfully compete with other moderately priced smartphones from T-Mobile’s portfolio. For instance, HTC U11 Life has an impressive optics, but doesn’t offer a dual-camera setup and costs $100 more than the REVVL Plus. Meanwhile, the LG K20 costs the same as the REVVL Plus, but it doesn’t provide you with any outstanding feature. To find a solid alternative to the REVVL Plus, we need to port to Metro PCS. The T-Mobile’s prepaid subsidiary sells the ZTE Blade Z Max, a sub-$100 phone that packs 6-inch screen and dual camera setup.
Already liked the phone and you’re curious where, when and for how much you may buy it? The REVVL Plus will officially go on sale this Friday, November 17th. Available both online and in-store, the device will be sold for $200 upfront, or for $0 down and $9 per month on a 18-month JUMP! On Demand lease program. You can also get it for $8 upfront and $8 per month on a 24-month installment plan.
