On April 9 T-Mobile announced that it will start offering the Nokia Lumia 521 sometime in May. If you already started saving money to get yourself the phone, it looks like you may need to break your piggy bank a little earlier. Folks at TmoNews got a leaked document that claims that the T-Mobile variant of the Nokia Lumia 520 is set to be launched as soon as this month, April 24 to be more exact. The phone will be available at the carrier’s store at a very attractive price of just $180 off-contract.
T-Mobile Nokia Lumia 521 Windows 8 Phone
The Nokia Lumia 521 is a handsome and rather solidly built phone that features a 4-inch display with a 800 x 480 resolution. Powering the device is a dual-core 1 GHz Snapdragon S4 Plus processor backed up by 512 MB of RAM. The handset offers 8 GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot for further storage expansion. The Nokia Lumia 521 is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera capable of recording 720p HD video and supports HSPA+ 21Mbps connectivity. Just like other phones in the Lumia lineup, the 521 runs Windows Phone 8 OS.
The same document that reveals the Lumia 521 launch date also explains why the Nokia Lumia 810 cannot be found on the carrier’s website anymore. It appears that the handset reaches its EOL (end of life) in May and will not be offered by T-Mobile any longer. However, it remains a mystery why the carrier did not wait until May to remove it from the website. The Windows Phone 8X by HTC disappeared together with the Nokia Lumia 810, however, the leaked document does not give us a clue why.
