Straight Talk New Plan
One of the nation’s most popular prepaid wireless service provider, Straight Talk, announced a new promotional deal targeting heavy data users. The carrier promises to increase your data allowance to 5GB if you bring your own phone. Interestingly enough, you don’t have to be a new subscriber, since the new offer covers also those customers who ported to the carrier years ago bringing their own handsets. In such cases, the data allowance will be activated automatically.

Straight Talk is definitely a good carrier to take into account when you want to shift to prepaid cell phone service with great coverage. The carrier is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), which means that they affiliate with T-Mobile, Verizon or AT&T for the access their towers. So, while being a Straight Talk subscriber, you will access the service via one of the biggest US carriers. However, you must note that unlike Google’s Project Fi, you will have only one carrier’s network at your disposal.

Basically, Straight Talk offers customers unlimited everything for as much as $45 per month. It’s surely a nice deal, but note that you actually get 3GB of data for this price. However, once you reached the 3GB limit your download speed will be reduced to 2G speeds which in practice is close to 50kbps.

Right now, the carrier added a new deal to their list of offering within which all Straight Talk subscribers will be granted with 5GB of data instead of the regular 3GB for the unchanged $45 per month. Frankly speaking, this is a quite decent amount of data for a pretty low price. The only catch here is that if you want to benefit from this special offer, you have to bring your own phone. The promo applies to almost all Straight Talk unlimited plans, except for the $30 one which deliver only 100MB of data.

Once you sign up for Straight Talk, you will get the opportunity to use the network you want to run on. If you have a Verizon phone, it will be the best move to join the Verizon network since the carrier is known for the best coverage and data speeds. So, getting 5GB of data on Verizon for as little as $45 seems to be a really lucrative deal, don’t you think?

When it comes to the deal’s availability, Straight Talk didn’t say how long exactly the special offer will be available. So, if you get interested in the deal and think about Straight Talk as your future carrier, you’d better sign up quickly because the promo won’t last forever.
