Sprint launches ZTE Optik 2 Android Tablet for cheap on contract

ZTE Optik 2If you are looking for a new tablet but don’t really feel like getting one of those powerhouses that are packed with advanced features and cost more than you can spend, then Sprint has something you may find interesting – the ZTE Optik 2. The tablet is an upgrade to the original Optik which was launched nearly two years ago, in February 2012. The next-generation Optik 2 is available from Sprint retail locations and online store for just $29.99 with a new two-year contract and on a qualifying data plan.

This slate is a 7-inch offering that is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and runs on Sprint’s 3G network. The tablet is equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus, camcorder and flash, as well as a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chatting.

Other key features include 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal memory expandable up to 32 GB via microSD, 4,000 mAh battery and stereo speakers. In addition to 3G support, the slate also has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 for connectivity. The ZTE Optik 2 runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.

The tablet works perfectly with any of Sprint’s Tablet Connection plans, including a special limited time offer of 2 GB of data for $15. Of course, there are more options to choose from such as 25 MB for $5, 100 MB for $10, 3 GB of data for $34.99, 6 GB of data for $49.99 or 12 GB of data for $79.99.
