There is no doubt, immediately after release flagship phones can cost you a pretty penny, even on contract. However, unless you feel an irresistible urge to have the device the same day it hits the stores, you can get it cheaper if you wait a little bit. After some time, when the handset has been on the market for a while, carriers start dropping prices and that’s what is happening with the HTC One M9 right now. Sprint model is now on sale for $99.99 on contract after $100 instant discount.
HTC One M9 will cost you half price on contract
It’s worth mentioning that on-contract price at launch was set at $199.99, which means that right now the Sprint HTC One M9 will cost you half of what it did before. In case you are wondering, AT&T and Verizon Wireless are still selling the phone at $199.99 on contract. Keep in mind, though, that the discount doesn’t affect the price if you choose a different payment option so you will still have to pay $648 if you want the device without any commitment, or $27 per month if you opt for Easy Pay installments.
The HTC One M9 for Sprint is basically the same as any other version of the HTC’s flagship smartphone, except for a handful of Sprint apps that are pre-loaded on the phone. The device sports a large 5-inch Full HD display and processing power is delivered by an Octa core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor.
One of the highlights of the handset is its impressive 20-megapixel main camera with dual-LED flash, simultaneous video and image recording, HDR, panorama and more. Other key features include 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory expandable up to 128GB via microSD slot, 4-megapixel UltraPixel selfie camera and Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7 on top. The battery is a 2,840 mAh unit and features Quick Charge 2.0 which allows the battery to charge up to 60% in 30 minutes. Sprint offers the phone in two color options – gunmetal grey and gold on silver.
The HTC One M9 was launched almost four months ago, at MWC in Barcelona. It may seem like a long time ago, especially if you take into account that smartphones can age pretty fast. Don’t worry, though. The One M9 with its premium hardware and up-to-date software, is as capable as it was the day it was announced. And now you can grab it at a more affordable price as long as you are willing to sing a new agreement with Sprint.
