A few hours ago at IFA trade show for consumer electronics in Berlin, Sony took the wraps off of its latest flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z1, aka Honami. The manufacturer also introduced the Sony Cyber-shot QX line of lens-style cameras. The Sony Xperia Z1 will be released in major markets all around the world starting this month. More detailed information about pricing and exact launch dates should be available soon.
Sony Xperia Z1 Great Camera Phone
The Sony Xperia Z1 takes all the best from the Xperia Z announced at CES in January and adds new and upgraded features to the mix to create a tasty morsel for Xperia fans. The phone packs a 5-inch 1080p display made with Triluminos technology that we have already seen on the Z Ultra.
The handset is driven by a powerful 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor paired with 2 GB of RAM. Power is delivered by a hefty 3,000 mAh battery. The device runs Android 4.3 with Sony’s skin on top and features 4G LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n and NFC. Just like the Xperia Z, the Z1 is also waterproof and will be available in white, black and purple.
With its latest offering, Sony put a lot of emphasis on camera features. The phone sports 20.7-megapixel Exmor CMOS image sensor with F/2.0 Sony G Lens and a Sony BIONZ image processor. The handset comes pre-loaded with a handful of camera-oriented apps for advanced editing and easy sharing of the photos.
If you want to achieve even more stunning effects in photography, you will be able to add one of the Sony’s external cameras, the QX100 or QX10. Both devices have their own optics and image sensor and can be paired with the phone via NFC.
