We have great news regarding Sony’s latest flagship smartphone – the Xperia Z. The company’s latest high-end offering will be available soon in the US via T-Mobile. The carrier will start offering the phone in the weeks to come under its Simple Choice plan, which includes a low down payment and monthly installments.
Sony Xperia Z for T-Mobile is almost here
T-Mobile has already launched a sing-up page where you can leave your email address and carrier will notify you as soon as the phone is available. It appears that it will be your only choice to get the device on a US carrier, since the Xperia Z will be offered exclusively by T-Mobile.
The Sony Xperia Z will run on T-Mobile’s 4G HPSA+ network, as well as the LTE network where is available. The phone will be another addition to T-Mobile’s growing LTE-capable devices portfolio. The handset features a 5-inch 1080p high-definition “Reality Display” with a mobile Bravia engine touted as the sharpest display I the world.
Under the hood, the device has a 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory expandable up to 32 GB via microSD slot. The phone boasts a 13-megapixel Exmor RS camera with a backside illuminated sensor. According to Sony, the camera is capable of offering HDR video.
The handset’s battery should be able to provide up to 11 hours of talk time and up to 550 hours of standby time. Additionally, thanks to STAMINA mode battery life can be extended delivering longer usage time on one charge. The Sony Xperia Z is waterproof up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes and comes with tempered glass and antishatter film on the front and back of the device.
