It appears that Sony has rolled out most of its big guns for 2014 and is now turning its attention towards other sectors of the market. Following a teaser from the other day, the Japanese company announced the Xperia T3 – a slim and awesomely designed mid-range smartphone. The Xperia T3 is expected to go on sale globally by the end of June for a more affordable price than Sony’s other high-end releases.
Sony Xperia T3 fol less demanding users…
A while back, a phone with Xperia T3’s specs would be at the top of the most demanding users’ list. Today, however, it just about makes it to the mid-range league. Then again, not everyone needs and wants the most high-end device Today. There are plenty of users who will be more than happy to get their hands on the more affordable mid-range Sony Xperia T3.
Beyond the specs and price, Sony hopes that users will be drawn by the phone’s classy design and slim profile. Indeed with its straight lines and stainless steel case measuring just 7-mm in thickness, the Xperia T3 will sure catch your eye. In addition to standard black and white color options, the handset also will be available in purple.
Design aside, the Xperia T3 offers mid tier specification with a slight inclination towards lower end. The phone features a 5.3-inch Triluminos IPS display with Bravia Engine 2 and a resolution of just 720 x 1280 pixels. Not that it’s terribly low or anything, but given the screen’s diagonal, pixel density will work out to 227 ppi, which is somewhat lowlish by today’s standards.
The rest of the specs won’t wow you either. Powering the Xperia T3 is a 1.4 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 305 graphics accompanied by 1 GB of RAM. Internal memory is set at 8 GB but luckily there is a microSD slot for storage expansion so you shouldn’t run out of room for your content.
The Xperia T3 sports an 8-megapixel Sony Exmor RS sensor with 1080p video capture as well as a pretty modest 1.1-megapixel front-facing shooter capable of recording video at 720p. For connectivity the handset has 2G/3G, LTE Cat. 4, Wi-Fi with Miracast and DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and A-GPS. Last but not least, the phone packs a 2,500 mAh battery which should be good for up to 12 hours and 46 minutes of talk times, and 8 hours and 14 minutes of video playback. The Xperia T3 will ship with Android 4.4 KitKat on board.
