Mobile photography is no longer only about shooting an occasional photo at a party. It’s slowly becoming an art but in order to make art presentable you need decent equipment. Sony has been one of the leaders in the field for a long time and apparently the Japanese manufacturer has no intention of giving up its position. The company has just introduced the Xperia C4 and Xperia C4 Dual that focus on quality selfie photos.
Sony Xperia C4 and C4 Dual Smartphones featuring 5MP front camera
The Sony Xperia C4 is a successor to last year’s Xperia C3 which was dubbed “world’s best selfie smartphone.” Like its predecessor, the Xperia C4 is aimed mostly at selfie enthusiasts. The phone packs a 5-megapixel camera with 25mm wide-angle lens, Exmor R for mobile sensor, “soft” LED flash, and HDR support. On the software side the handset comes with a few cool tricks such as SteadyShot technology and Superior Auto shooting mode. The rear camera is also nothing to complain about – it offers a 13-megapixel sensor, LED flash and HDR.
The rest of the specs are pretty respectable as well. To start off, the new Sony Xperia C4 sports a 5.5-inch 1080p display which uses Sony’s Bravia imaging Technologies and is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MTK6752 processor with Mali-T760 graphics. The chip is paired with 2GB of RAM and there is 16GB of storage plus microSD slot which is compatible with up to 128GB cards. The battery is a decent 2,600 mAh unit which should be good for over 8 hours of video viewing.
The Xperia C4 features OmniBalance design language and will be offered in white, black, and “vibrant mint” color options. The device will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box and will be available also in dual-SIM version. Unfortunately, unlike most Sony Xperia smartphones, the C4 is not dust and water resistant.
The single-SIM Xperia C4 along with the dual-SIM variant will go on sale in June. The phone will be available in select markets, however, Sony at this point didn’t elaborate where exactly. The manufacturer also didn’t reveal pricing, but since the C4 is clearly not as high-end as the Xperia Z4, it most likely will be more affordable too.
