4th of July is a big day here on the US soil and it appears that this year we will have one more reason to celebrate. If the latest rumors are true, that day Sony will unveil the first camera-phone in a new One Sony series, the Sony Honami, also known as the Xperia i1.
Sony Xperia i1 Honami 20 MP Camera-Phone
An invitation to Sony’s event pictures a device that is supposed to be announced. Actually, what we can see is just one side of the phone with a dedicated camera button and what appears to be an earphone jack. Recently leaked photos of the Sony Honami reveal exactly the same details.
The Sony Xperia i1 Honami is believed to feature a 5-inch Full HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The phone will allegedly be powered by a quad-core 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with Adreno 330 GPU.
The handset will probably offer 2 GB of RAM, however, there is no word on storage capacity. The battery is believed to be a massive 2,700 – 3,000 mAh unit. The Sony Honami will be dust proof and water resistant and will run Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean.
In addition to all these high-end specs, the Sony Honami will boast a huge 20-megapixel camera sensor. This one detail will position the phone as a competitor to the Nokia EOS and the Samsung Galaxy Zoom. The camera will feature an Exmor RS sensor, G Lens, Cybershot, dual LED and Xenon flash, Mobile BIONZ Image processing and interchangeable lens. The front-facing camera is also nothing to complain about with its 2.2 megapixels.
The handset is rumored to go on sale some time in September.
