Apparently, an official teaser image of a Sony smartphone has leaked. The image reveals one side of a purple phone and a date and place – September 4 2013, Berlin. It does not take too much imagination to deduce that this is when and where the mysterious device will be unveiled. No name came attached with the photo but we are pretty sure that the handset in the photo is the Sony Honami also known as Xperia i1.

As always in such cases we advise you to take the news with a grain of salt, especially that the phone seems to differ slightly from previously leaked images. If you look closely you can see the characteristic power button, flap and volume rocker. If you look even closer you will probably notice that the edges appear to be more rounded that what we expected. Naturally, it may be just the camera playing tricks on your eyes, so let’s not read too much into it.
The Sony Honami is rumored to feature a 5-inch Full HD Triluminos display with the X-reality engine and will possibly be powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. The phone is believed to pack 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of expandable memory and IP57 certification, which means that it will be dust and waterproof up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes. What Sony is most proud of, though, is its 20.7-megapixel camera with Sony G-lens and BIONZ image processor. Other features include Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, Wi-Fi and support for GSM/UMTS/LTE networks.
