It looks like all the speculations concerning the premiere of the Galaxy S6, now become facts. With Samsung sending invitations to their next “Unpacked” event scheduled to take place at this year’s Mobile World Congress, it’s been officially confirmed by the South Korean manufacturer that their new flagship is to debut on March 1st. The invitation teases the world with and image presenting a curved line unveiling what to expect from the next member of the Samsung’s Galaxy S line featuring curved display.
Samsung Unpacked 2015 event to bring Galaxy S6 with curved display.
Technically speaking, the Unpacked 2015 event isn’t an official part of the Mobile World Congress show. However, since it takes place in the same city that is Barcelona right the night before the conference, no wonder that attendants will have difficulty with distinguishing Samsung event from MWC’s official program. It is definitely an intended and scrupulously prepared campaign enabling Samsung to take as much as it is possible attention from the great fuss surrounding the event and steal extra audience.
Delivering its invitations, the company still manages to unveil hardly anything on its new device. The invitations show nothing more than a curved silver line emerging from a deep black background. The mentioned line itself looks like it has been taken from the well-known Galaxy Note Edge streamlined body featuring the so-called “Galaxy bump”, giving us a hint so as to what the Galaxy S6 form factor may look like. But, frankly speaking it can be anything starting from a phone ending at a new Gear wearable device. This along with the phrase “What’s next?” written on the invitations makes them a great puzzle.
Moving on to the curved Samsung Galaxy S6 itself, the smartphone is rumored to boast a 5-inch QHD Super AMOLED screen and be powered by the Exynos 7420 chipset housing an octa-core processor combined with 3GB RAM. The back side of the device will sport a heart rate sensor and an impressive 20-megapixel main camera. All this will be enclosed in a 143.5 x 70.7 x 7.2 mm body encircled by a metal frame, this is at least what recent leaks suggest.
The curved variant of the Galaxy S6 is rumored to be called the Galaxy S Edge, however, even having the manufacturer’s leak on double curved edges, at this point we still cannot be 100 percent whether two sides of the display will be rounded or just one of them. But with the MWC just few weeks ahead, we will surely soon be showered with new leaks that may answer this and many more questions concerning the Samsung’s flagship smartphone for 2015.
