Just when we thought that Samsung would give us a break from big surprises after the Galaxy S4 release, it appears that once again we will be kept on tenterhooks for a while. The company has just announced its “Premiere 2013” event during which it will apparently announce two new devices – from the Galaxy and Ativ lineup. Galaxy is Samsung’s most recognizable brand, while Ativ is a fairly new family of Windows 8 smartphones, consisting of two phones so far: the Ativ S I8750, and the Ativ Odyssey I930. In this respect the event will be pretty unusual, since it is not very common for a manufacturer to present an Android and Windows Phone 8 handset at the same time.
Samsung Premiere 2013 – London, June 20
The event will take place on June 20 at the Earls Court Exhibition Center in London. The presentation will begin at 7 pm GMT and will be live-streamed over on Samsung’s official YouTube channel. As for the invitation itself, apart from the date, time and place, it does not offer any other detail. The invitation includes three not too explicit pictures which only fuel our imagination as to exact models.
For the time being, the most probable candidates for the Galaxy lineup seems to be the Galaxy S4 Mini, the Galaxy S4 Active and the Galaxy S4 Zoom. Some sources also mention the Galaxy S4 Mega and the 10-inch Galaxy Tab. There are not too many hints on the Ativ device, but we can guess it probably will be a high-end offering. To be honest, at the moment we are just speculating. Samsung may announce any of the above mentioned device, or it could be an entirely new product – one that we do not expect at all.
