Probably the worst part after a great phone’s announcement is waiting for it to show up in stores. In can be anytime between a few days and a few weeks, but for those who plan to purchase the device, it seems that the wait will never end. This year, however, it looks like Samsung has a sweet surprise for us. According to some rumors, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge pre-sale may begin as soon as February 21 and may include a free Gear VR headset.
The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge bundled with a free Gear VR may be available for pre-order on the day of the announcement
If the latest reports from the Netherlands are to be believed, the Korean manufacturer will have the newest members of the Galaxy S family ready for pre-order on the day of the unveiling that is February 21. The same report claims that both phones will go on sale a little under three weeks later, that is on March 11th.
Moreover, the same source also believes that every user who pre-orders either the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge between February 21 and March 10 will receive a Gear VR headset for free. If true, that would be one awesome deal. VR in the name stands for “virtual reality” which allows for far more immersive experience than even the best flat screen. The accessory uses optical lenses to display the content from your phone in your entire field of view making you fee like you are inside a game or a movie. When purchased separately, the Gear VR costs $99 and while it’s not an indispensable accessory, it can greatly enrich your gaming and viewing experience.
Both the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are expected to ship in three colors but none have been mentioned so far. We assume that it would be black, white and silver, though there’s always a possibility that Samsung will opt for a hue no one expects. It’s also unclear whether all three colors will be available worldwide or only in the Netherlands. The devices will possibly come only with 32GB of storage, however, it’s nothing to worry about yet, since Samsung is said to bring microSD support back to the Galaxy S lineup.
The company hasn’t confirmed any of the claims, so you should probably take the news with a pinch of salt. Nonetheless, we can’t wait to see what the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have in store for us.
