The introduced few months ago to the Singapore market the Galaxy S5 Plus is now officially announced to go on sale in more countries. The handset is nothing more but the standard Galaxy S5 with a small late season upgrade concerning the phone’s processor. The old Snapdragon 801 has been replaced by the Qualcomm’s higher-end Snapdragon 805, obviously this processor CPU improvement doesn’t only mean a boost in processing power, but also faster LTE speeds.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus vs. original Galaxy S5
It isn’t the first time when Samsung upgrades its current flagship. In case it skipped your memory, the same thing happened last year with the Galaxy S4 that received faster LTE connectivity resulting from more advanced processor. The device popped online on the Netherlands version of the Samsung’s website, which can mean only one thing, the manufacturer prepares the global release of the Galaxy S5 Plus.
Just as mentioned the main difference between the original version of the Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy S5 Plus is the Snapdragon 805 CPU added to the Plus version. Even though it is clocked at 2.5GHz and not 2.7GHz like the Galaxy Note 4, the performance offered by it should be considerably higher. What’s even more important, the better processor enables the phone to deliver support for LTE speeds up to 225Mbps, the problem is that not every carrier provides such fast connection. Don’t confuse the S5 Plus with the Galaxy S5 LTE-A that is equipped with a QHD display and 3GB RAM.
Other specs of the Galaxy S5 Plus remains identical to those we can find in its standard version. So we will get a 5.1-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, 16-megapixel camera, 2GB RAM and 16GB of built-in storage that can be expanded via microSD slot. All these will be powered by the well-known 2,800 mAh battery. Additionally, the device is water resistant and goes on sale in four color options, so you may pick between traditional black and white, blue and gold.
The specific date of the Galaxy S5 Plus premiere is still something of a mystery just as well as its availability and pricing. With the world waiting for the Galaxy S6 being released within just few months, do you think that upgraded version of the Galaxy S5 has any chances to attract much of the customer’s attention?
