The Samsung Galaxy S5 is one of the most important releases of this year so it’s not surprising that it will be available on all major US carriers. When the phone was announced last week at MWC in Barcelona, it was confirmed immediately that it will arrive on AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile as well as US Cellular and Metro PCS. The list doesn’t end here, though. Sprint announced that two of its pre-paid subsidiaries, Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile, will be carrying the newest Samsung Galaxy S5 as well.

The phone is set to arrive on Sprint’s prepaid brands some time in the second quarter of 2014, though exact date hasn’t been revealed yet. Anyway, it’s good to know that this time customers won’t have to wait long months before seeing a high-end smartphone land on either carrier as it has happened in the past.
Both, Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile, are prepaid carriers and sell their phones without subsidies which means that the Galaxy S5 won’t come up cheap. Most likely we will be looking at a price tag of several hundred dollars, possibly range $600 – $650 – our guess. Given the handset’s specs such price level could be expected, though.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 packs a 5.1-inch 1920 x 1080 Super AMOLED display, a quad-core 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU and 2 GB of RAM to guarantee flawless performance. The phone will be available in two storage options, with either 16 GB or 32 GB of internal memory, each packing a microSD slot for storage expansion.
One of the most important features of the Galaxy S5 is its camera with a 16-megapixel ISOCELL sensor offering LED flash and 4K video capture. There is also a 2.1-megapixel camera located on the front panel. Following the trend set by Sony Xperia devices, the Galaxy S5 comes with IP67 rating meaning that it is dust and waterproof up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes.
Other cool features worth to mention include Finger Scanner embedded in the home button and built-in heart rate sensor. The phone runs Android 4.4 KitKat with a new version of Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top of it.
