Details about Samsung’s upcoming event are still covered in a veil of secrecy, but after today we can at least remove the Galaxy S4 Mini from the list of the devices expected to be announced on June 20. Samsung officially introduced the phone today as “a powerful yet compact version of its bestselling smartphone”. The handset is expected to hit the stores in UK first, possibly in June, and will become available in other markets at later date. We still have wait for confirmed information about pricing but it is safe to say that the phone will be significantly cheaper than its big brother.
Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Smartphone
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini looks like a scaled-down version of the Galaxy S4. However, its insides are somewhat less impressive, no surprise here. The phone features a 4.3-inch qHD (960 x 540) Super AMOLED display, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing one. Both cameras offer numerous shooting and editing options, including Best Photo, HDR, and Panorama. The phone is powered by a dual-core 1.7 GHz processor paired with 1.5 GB of RAM and 8 GB of expandable built-in memory.
The handset runs Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean and boasts such premium features as IR blaster. Most of software functionalities included in the Galaxy S4 are also found on the Galaxy S4 Mini, for example S Voice, S Translator, Group Play, and WatchON. The device will be come in three versions: a regular 3G model, a dual-SIM model and one equipped with LTE radio. Availability of each variant will depend on the market.
