The Samsung Galaxy S4 was announced just one week ago and, as expected, price drops have already begun on its predecessor – the Galaxy S3. The first retailer to offer the Galaxy S3 at a discounted price is RadioShack that lowered price on the Sprint version. If you are already a Sprint customer, you can grab Samsung’s former flagship phone for just $49.99 if you are willing to sign a new two-year contract. You can bring this price to a round $0 easily if you leave your old device to trade-in with the “Trade & Save” program.
Deal on Samsung Galaxy S3 for Sprint
Existing Sprint customers eligible for upgrade will be able to purchase the Samsung Galaxy S3 for $99.99. While it is not as attractive as new sign-ups, upgrading subscribers will still be able to save $100, compared to the handset’s original price of $199.99. The deal also includes free two-day shipping.
If you still not convinced to the value of the former flagship phone, you should know that Samsung promised that the Galaxy S3 will get some of the software features that the Galaxy S4 is rocking. We also found out that the handset is likely to receive the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie upgrade, which is rumored to come in May, which is just two months away.
Beyond that, the Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED touch screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 2, dual-core 1.5 GHz processor and impressive 8 megapixel camera with less shutter-lag, Burst Shot and the ability to record HD video and shot still photos at the same time. Other features include 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory expandable up to 64 GB, NFC, and 4G LTE connectivity.
