The excitement over the awesome Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is slowly settling down but don’t think Samsung will let your emotions stay calm for too long. We are in the middle of summer which means that a new member of the Galaxy Note family is about to go official. We expect this to happen in two weeks, on August 2, but that’s not the most exciting news. According to a very reliable source, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Buy One Get One free promo will be coming to T-Mobile right at launch.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is on its way to T-Mobile. You will be able to get the phone for free under one condition.
It’s not very often that a flagship device is offered for free as a part of BOGO deal from day one, but sometimes it happens. T-Mobile as well as other carriers did this with the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge when they were released back in April and it hugely paid off. Both devices noted spectacular success as far as sales results are concerned. According to Evan Blass, better known as @evleaks, T-Mobile is also going to offer the Note 7 through BOGO promotion.
What to expect from the deal
Official details of the deal are still unknown but if last year when T-Mobile held BOGO promotion on the Note 7 can be of any indication, the offer most likely will be available to both new and existing customers. As it’s usually the case with BOGO deals, regardless of your customer status, at least one of the phones will probably have to be activated as a new line of service.
Carriers refund the cost of the second device in different ways, for instance through bill credits. T-Mobile, however, opted for a prepaid MasterCard in the past and there’s no reason to think that it will change its tactics this year. Unless the carrier plans to surprise us, you can expect a MasterCard with the entire value of one phone which you most likely will be able to use to whatever purpose you wish – pay of the phone, buy accessories, etc. The card should arrive within two months of the date of purchase.
Rumored specs and features and expected pricing
Even though the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and Note 7 Edge is set to be unveiled in just two weeks, the device is still shrouded in a veil of mystery. It’s reported that the 5.7-incher will be powered by a Snapdragon 821 processor and will come with a whopping 6GB of RAM. It might also sport a 12-megapixel camera, USB Type-C port, a generous 4,000 mAh battery as well as IP68 certification for dust and water resistance. The S Pen stylus, which hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, seems like a safe bet. The phone might be launched in two variants, with 32GB and 64GB of storage.
Specs are not the only secret Samsung is keeping from us – there’s no word on pricing either. Rumor has it that the Note 7 will be priced at €849 in Europe which would translate to approximately $935, but frankly speaking we don’t believe the phone will cost that much. Last year T-Mobile launched the Note 5 with a $699.99 price tag and we expect the base 32GB model to cost about the same or maybe just a little bit more. Of course, pricing will probably vary depending on the carrier.
Keep in mind, though, that these details are in no way official – they are just our speculations and predictions based on rumors and past experiences which means that the Galaxy Note 7 may end up with a different set of specs and a whole new price. The only way to know for sure is to wait for official announcement which will happen on August 2 during three simultaneous events in New York, Rio, and London.
