While Samsung is working on preparing the lite version of the Galaxy Note 3 for its first public appearance which may happen next month at MWC, we are uncovering more and more details through a number of leaks which include documents and photos. First of all, the phone will have no “Lite” in the name, as suggested earlier. According to leaked internal product positioning documents, the handset will be called Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo. The documents also confirm all the key parameters of the phone.
5.5-inch Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo Phablet
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo fits right in between the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Note 3, borrowing certain specs from both phones. The Note 3 Neo packs a 5.55-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory expandable via MicroSD card and a 3,100 mAh battery.
Interesting is the choice of the processor. Apparently, the phone is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 5260 Hexa-Core SoC (1.7 GHz dual + 1.3 GHz quad-core) with Heterogeneous Multi-Processing capabilities.
As every Galaxy Note model, the Neo comes equipped with S Pen, which means that such features as Air Command Action Memo, Scrapbook, Screen Write, S Finder, Pen Window, S Note, Multi Window, new Easy Clip, and Direct Pen Input are present.
The Galaxy Note 3 Neo also offers Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac connectivity, IR blaster, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 + LE, and more. The phone will ship with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on board which will be later updated to 4.4 KitKat possibly together with Magazine UX.
AnTuTu benchmark results are also known. The phone scored 29,382 points in AnTuTu which is a reason to be proud of.
