We have more information concerning US launch of Samsung’s latest phablet, the Galaxy Mega 6.3. The beast of a smartphone will make an appearance in the US stores this month and will be offered by Sprint, US Cellular and AT&T. Out of the three carriers, only AT&T revealed details about availability and pricing. The carrier will start selling the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 on August 23rd for $149.99 with a new two-year service agreement. The phone will also be available for $24 a month on carrier’s Next Plan. Sprint and US Cellular are yet to announce official launch dates and pricing, though in Sprint’s press release we read that the device will be available later on this year.
Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 Phablet
The Galaxy Mega 6.3 is Samsung’s biggest smartphone currently available on the market. The handset’s huge body houses a 6.3-inch display with 1280 x 720 resolution at 233 ppi. The phone is powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 305 crunching graphics. The device offers 1.5 GB of RAM and either 8 GB or 16 GB of internal memory, both expandable via microSD slot supporting up to 64 GB cards.
The Galaxy Mega 6.3 is equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera as well as a 1.9-megapixel front-facing sensor. The phone also features support for LTE and HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, and MHL.
The handset’s 3,200 mAh battery delivers up to 10 hours of talk time and up to 420 hours of standby time. The phone runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and comes with such Samsung’s features as Multi-Window, Air View, WatchOn, and EasyMode.
