If a picture is worth a thousand words then we have a pretty thick novel on our hands. The hero of the story is the upcoming Samsung Galaxy F, also known as the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime. Rumors regarding the smartphone have been popping up for quite some time now and with each passing day the device takes more definite form and shape. The handset has been recently spotted in live pictures and even paid a visit to the FCC agency dissolving any doubts regarding its existence.
Samsung Galaxy F aka Galaxy S5 Prime
There is no doubt that Samsung’s flagship phone for this year, the Galaxy S5, is a very high-end device, but apparently the company didn’t exhaust all its possibilities. The Galaxy F is expected to be even more premium in all aspects, that is hardware, software and design. The leaked photo seems to confirmed the assumption, at least when it comes to the design.
The picture shows front and back panel of a device that evidently belongs to the Galaxy lineup but is noticeably different from the Galaxy S5. The plastic patterned back appears to be replaced by what looks like brushed metal. While the photo alone can’t be treated as a solid evidence, it seems to corroborate the story that the Galaxy F will be encased in aluminum rather than polycarbonate material.
The main camera is rumored to feature a 16-megapixel sensor with optical image stabilization, while the front-facing camera is said to shoot pictures in 2-megapixel resolution. Speculations also mention QHD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 3 GB of RAM, LTE-Advanced connectivity, microSD support and Android 4.4.3 KitKat.
A Samsung phone believed to be the Galaxy F passed through the FCC carrying the model numbers SM-G906S, G906K, and G906L. Unfortunately, the FCC filing doesn’t reveal much. In fact, the only details we learn include the placement of the antennas and the dimensions of the phone. According to the FCC file, the Galaxy F will come with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and NFC capabilities and will measure 5.59 x 2.85 inch (142 x 72.5 mm), which is exactly the same size as the Galaxy S5. However, incredibly thin bezels confirmed by the leaked photo should give just enough room for the rumored 5.3-inch screen.
The Galaxy F or Galaxy S5 Prime is expected to make an appearance some time in September. All the bits and pieces that show up on the web hint at a potential powerhouse and it will interesting to see how much of it will actually come true.
