If we were to name a manufacturer that makes the largest number of phone models each year, it probably would be Samsung. The company has released virtually dozens of models, most of which belong to its most popular brand – Galaxy. You would think that Samsung would want to take it easy for a while, but apparently the company thinks that there are not enough phones on the market yet and is getting ready to make two new Galaxy variants official. The Samsung Galaxy E7 with model number SM-E700F and Galaxy E5 SM-E500F details have just surfaced online.
Samsung Galaxy E5 and Galaxy E7 Smartphones
Out of the two, the Samsung Galaxy E7 SM-E700F is more high-end, although both come with specs that put them in mid-range sector. The Galaxy E7 packs a huge 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen offering HD (1280×720) resolution and allegedly is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 processor. The chip might be accompanied by 2GB of RAM and users will get 16GB of expandable internal storage.
Other features include a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2,950 mAh battery. The E7 possibly measures 151 x 77 x 7.2 mm, which is pretty thin for a smartphone.
The Samsung Galaxy E5 SM-E500F appears to be smaller with screen measuring 5 inches diagonally. It will, however, have the same HD resolution as the E7 which means that it will offer higher pixel density. The rest of key specs include Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable internal storage, 8-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2,300 mAh battery. The Galaxy E5 could be even thinner than the E7 with frame measuring just 6.9 mm. According to industry insiders, both phones will ship with Android Lollipop out of the box.
There is no doubt that Samsung’s policy is all about diversity and we support such approach. However, we can’t help but wonder how well the new phones will sell. There are so many Samsung phones out there that everyone will find whatever he looks for, from a very premium handset to a very basic device with every imaginable combination of specs in between. The new Galaxy E7 and Galaxy E5 phones may have it hard to reach high sells, but since the devices are not even announced yet, let’s not be prophets of doom and wait how things play out.
