Man cannot live by high-end phones alone. In fact, in many cases a man doesn’t even want such a wonder of technology because all he needs is a decent piece of hardware that makes calls and sends texts and at the same time doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. With such men and women in mind Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Ace 4 in two flavors – with 3G-only and 4G LTE connectivity. Both versions will hit the stores some time next month.
Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 3G-only vs. 4G LTE version
As you might have guessed, the Galaxy Ace 4 is a successor of the Galaxy Ace 3, though if you expected a dramatic upgrade, you won’t get your wish this time. Like the Ace 3, the latest addition to the Ace family still sits in the lower mid-range drawer and even shares some specs with its older cousin.
The two models of the Galaxy Ace 4 are very similar, though not identical. The most obvious difference is the type of connectivity – one model comes with 3G, the other has an LTE radio. The LTE variant packs a slightly more powerful 1.2 GHz processor, while the 3G version has a 1 GHz chip inside, both of dual-core variety. The Galaxy Ace 4 3G has 512 MB of RAM to assist the processor, the Galaxy Ace 4 LTE, on the other hand, comes with twice as much that is 1 GB.
Since LTE connectivity is a bit more demanding in terms of energy, the phone sports a larger 1,800 mAh battery. The capacity of the unit in the 3G version is 1,500 mAh. There is also a tiny difference in thickness and weight between the two variants. At 11 mm of thickness and 130.3 grams of weight, the LTE model is 0.2 mm thicker and 6.8 grams heavier than the 3G version. Height and width are the same for both models, that is 121.4 x 62.9 mm.
Other features are identical and include 4 GB of internal memory, microSD support for up to 64 GB, 5-megapixel main camera, VGA front-facing camera, 4-inch WVGA display, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi b/g/n with Wi-Fi Direct. The Galaxy Ace 4 will ship with Android 4.4 on board with Samsung’s TouchWiz Essence interface. The phone will be available in Iris Charcoal and Classic White at a price yet to be announced.
